She graduated with distinction from College of Nursing, AFMC, Pune in 1978. She was posted to Army Hospital, Delhi Cantt. and Military Hospital Tezpur (Assam) and worked mainly in ICU and Technical Training School. In 1986 she successfully completed her M.Sc Nursing in Community Health Nursing as specialization from Leela Bai Thackery College of Nursing, SNDT University, Mumbai.
She worked as a lecturer in College of Nursing AFMC for 8 years. Thereafter she worked in various teaching institutions of Army, Air force and Navy before being promoted to Principal Tutor at School of Nursing, Command Hospital, Eastern Command, Kolkata. She conducted State level Continuous Nursing Programme as Secretary and then as President at Bombay and Kolkata. She has the privilege of being the founder Principal of Kasturba College of Nursing, under the aegis of BHEL Shiksha Mandal, BHEL, Bhopal and thus pioneered B.Sc. Nursing education in the city of Bhopal.
She is the Vice-Chairman of Board of Studies, Barkatullah University, Bhopal since 2003 and examiner of various universities for graduate and post graduate programme. She is a life member of Trained Nurses Association. She is also the author of "First Aid For Nurses" book. Presently she is nourishing the college with her vast experience and dedicated services.
