RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

  1. PCDS & RC is actively engaged in Research activities.
  2. PEOPLE’S Group has established Central research facility-CSRD, which caters to the needs of all the Institutions.
  3. Research projects are also undertaken in conjunction with other Institutions like PCMS&RC, Forensic lab, JK Institute of Cancer etc.
  4. Epidemiological study of incidence of oral squamous cell carcinoma in patients reporting to OPD of PCDS – ICMR project.
  5. Epidiomiological study of incidence of OSMF in patients reporting to OPD of PCDS – ICMR project.
  6. M.Sc students of Barkatullah University also conduct their research projects in PCDS&RC. So far 3 students have completed their projects in Microbiology.

 Some of the ongoing research projects are–

  1. Retrospective Study of Tobacco related oral mucosal lesions in Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer institute.
  2. Comparison of one stage full mouth disinfection with conventional periodontal therapy.
  3. Community Dentistry dept is collaborating with Queen Mary’s School of Medicine & Dentistry UK on establishing link between emotional intelligence and knowledge, attitude and behaviour towards tobacco of dental undergraduates in Bhopal.
  4. Comparison of full mouth scores in Pts with Gingival and Periodontal diseases.
  5. Gingival dimensions in clinically healthy subjects in central India
  6. Clinical evaluation of buccal fat pad as inter positional flap in reconstruction of oral submucous fibrosis.
