DEPTARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DENTISTRY:: The mainstay of the department is prevention of oral diseases by creating awareness among masses through health education programmes. The Department is actively involved in rendering dental treatment, by our well equipped mobile dental clinic, to the masses of rural area for whom such treatment is far fetched and expensive. This is achieved by conducting free dental treatment camps in rural areas providing basic dental treatment and distribution of free medicine to the needy. The Department collaborates with volunteer organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in various community activities. Healthy children are the future of the country. Children have to bear the brunt of oral diseases at an early stage. More over, the children ,these days are increasingly adopting the adverse habits, which is an alarming fact. In order to spread the message of oral health amongst the children, the department conducts school dental health programmes, which involves screening of children and providing Dental health education. The departments is located in the ground floor of Block-B. A Good museum for educating the people on oral health. UG clinic ai provided with 16 Dental chairs and supporting equipment for sterilization and treatment procedures. Separate PG Clinic is provided with 6 Dental Chairs and supporting equipment for sterilization and treatment procedures. Mobile Dental van fitted with Dental Chair, Sterilization equipment, treatment trolley is available in rural dental camps. Mobile van is also provided with teaching aids like, projector, TV, DVD player, Public address system and teaching material. Van is fitted with Generator for power supply in rural areas. Dept of Community Dentistry is also running three satellite centers at 1.Parwalia, 2. Railway hospital and 3. Ritu Memorial Hospital,( People’s Group) Kolar Road.
