HUMAN GENETIC LAB One of the aim of human genetics lab is encourage the new generation to take genetics as carrier and find new findings in field of cancer, haemoglobinopathies etc. The new buds in field of genetics will come with new thinking power. Human genetics describes the study of inheritance as it occurs in human beings. Study of human genetics can be useful as it can answer questions about human nature, understand the diseases and development of effective disease treatment, and genetics of human life. Genetics has become central to the science of medicine. Cracking the genetic code has allowed us to study diseases at the molecular level, which is increasing our knowledge of potential preventions and treatments for diseases. Human genetics encompasses a variety of overlapping fields including: classical genetics, cytogenetics, molecular genetics, biochemical genetics, genomics, population genetics, developmental genetics, clinical genetics, and genetic counseling. The science of Human Genetics has grown very fast through the efforts of the Human Geneticist. Today about 6000 Human Genetic Diseases have been reported from all over the world and with complete sequencing of the Human Genome the number of these diseases is expected to be about 10,000. It is unfortunate that no treatment is available yet for any of the Genetic Disease. Although a few can be treated but fortunately all the Genetic Diseases can be prevented through awareness among people. These life threatening diseases become a burden to the family, society and nation. It is better to put a check on these diseases. With an aim to Nurture Humanity through health and educational excellence The People’s group has established a Human Genetic Lab in its Centre for Scientific Research and Development (CSRD).This lab will not only help the people of MP to know about the Common Genetic Diseases but also spread awareness to prevent such diseases. |
